Man City Premier League title chances now in our hands – Doku
Jeremy Doku delivered both a decisive performance and a pointed message as Manchester City strengthened their Premier League title push with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian winger found the net in a result that not only underlined City’s attacking quality but also sharpened belief within the squad that the destiny of the title is firmly within their grasp.
City’s triumph cuts the gap to leaders Arsenal to six points, with a crucial clash between the two sides looming at the Etihad Stadium next weekend. With a game in hand, the reigning champions have placed themselves in a strong strategic position, one that Doku acknowledged in his post-match reflections.
“Obviously, three points here, in a tough game, we did very well. We needed those three points,” Doku said.
“So we’re just going to keep on going, keep on going. We know that we still have everything in our hands. We’re going to recover well and we look forward to the game on Sunday.”
Beyond the scoreline, City’s display was defined by tactical maturity and relentless execution. After a measured first half, the visitors raised their intensity following the restart, stretching Chelsea’s defensive shape with sharper movement and purposeful runs in behind.
The adjustment created spaces that City exploited with clinical precision, turning control into goals.
“Coming here is not easy, playing here against Chelsea in their stadium is not easy. We just had to keep on going,” he added.
“We adapted our pressing a bit and more runs in behind, that opens more spaces. The way we started the second half also put a lot of pressure on them. In those moments when you can score it helps a lot.”
