After a six-week absence due to a knee injury, Samir Nasri has fully recovered and is now available for selection in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad at Manchester City. The French midfielder, of Algerian origin, is set to make his return to competition in the FA Cup clash against Chelsea on Saturday.
Pellegrini emphasized Nasri’s importance to the team, stating that his return, along with Javi Garcia’s, is crucial for such an important match.
Nasri sustained a partial rupture of the internal ligament in his left knee on January 12 during a match against Newcastle. Despite facing criticism last year, Nasri has flourished this season under Pellegrini’s guidance. He has become a key player for Manchester City, featuring in 34 matches since the start of the year, scoring 6 goals and providing 9 assists across all competitions.
