Mamelodi Sundowns have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Portuguese attacking talent Nuno Miguel Santos from Vitoria Guimaraes.

The 26-year-old arrives in South Africa for a fee of around USD 1.2 million and is expected to add creativity and energy to the Brazilians’ title charge.

Santos enjoyed a strong campaign last season, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. His arrival is viewed as a statement of intent from Sundowns, who continue to attract international quality to the Premier Soccer League.

The midfielder was part of Portugal’s U19 squad that lifted the 2018 UEFA European Championship in Finland, making three substitute appearances, including in the dramatic final. He later represented the U21s in a 4–0 win over Gibraltar during the 2021 European qualifiers.

Supporters believe his skills and European experience will help Sundowns maintain their dominance at home while chasing continental glory.
