Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro is closing in on a move to Brazil powerhouse, Fluminense in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Ribeiro has garnered a hosts of interest following his swashbuckling performance for Sundowns in both domestic competitions and the FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
The 26-year-old scored a belter against Dortmund, earning him the Goal of the tournament award at the expense of Lionel Messi.
According to reports, Ribeiro has left Mamelodi Sundowns training camp in Rustenburg amid negotiations with Fluminense. He is a doubt for the upcoming MTN8 tournament, which kicks off this weekend.
Last season, Ribeiro played 51 matches for Sundowns, scoring 21 goals and providing 14 assists, establishing himself as one of the team’s key players.
