South African outfit Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the acquisition of defender Keanu Cupido from Cape Town City.
The 27-year-old joins Sundowns on a permanent deal, ending his seven years spell with Cape Town City.
Before joining Cape Town City, the enterprising defender had spent two years in France, featuring for AC Ajaccio.
Despite being on the wishlist of Bidvest Wits, Keanu Cupido opted to return to Gauteng after establishing himself as a key cog to Cape Town City’s team.
Cupido becomes the third signing of Sundowns after South African, Jayden Adams and Argentine defender Lucas Suarez.
He made 15 appearances across competitions in the ongoing campaign for Cape Town City.
Cupido amassed 143 appearances for City across all competitions, contributing one goal and three assists in his seven-year spell at the club.
He has capped two times for the South African national team since making his debut.
