Mamelodi Sundowns have bolstered their squad with the signing of Argentine defender Lucas Suarez from CA Talleres, marking their third acquisition of the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old, who was under contract with Talleres until 2026, arrives at the South African club as part of a deal that saw Matias Esquivel move in the opposite direction on loan.
Suarez joins new arrivals Jayden Adams and Keanu Cupido as Sundowns look to reinforce their defensive options.
The centre-back brings international experience, having earned four caps for Argentina.
At club level, he made 66 appearances for Talleres, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
Over the course of his career, Suarez has represented several Argentine clubs, including Estudiantes RC, Arsenal, Defensa y Justicia, Sarmiento, and Quilmes.
While he has yet to claim a league title, he has twice finished as a runner-up.
His arrival adds depth to Sundowns’ squad as they continue their domestic and continental campaigns, aiming to strengthen their defensive solidity for the remainder of the season.
