Mamelodi Sundowns name starting XI for Wiliete SC Champions League tie

Mamelodi Sundowns have named their starting line-up for Friday night’s CAF Champions League second-leg meeting with Wiliete SC at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

The African champions are aiming to secure a place in the group stages after the sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg last weekend.

Mamelodi Sundowns can also make history by becoming the first club to reach the Champions League group stages for 12 successive campaigns.

The Brazilians and record winners Al Ahly currently share the record for most consecutive group-stage appearances, with 11 each. However, Al Ahly are competing in the Confederation Cup this season.

Wiliete remain in contention to qualify for the group stage for the first time in their history, with the tie still finely balanced before the second leg.

Miguel Cardoso’s Mamelodi Sundowns team is:

Substitutes: Goss, Rayners, Morena, Zwane, Cele, Basadien, Van Wyk, Ndlovu, Mvala.
