Mamelodi Sundowns name starting XI for Marumo Gallants clash at Loftus Versfeld

Mamelodi Sundowns return to Loftus Versfeld Stadium for the first time this season when they host Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday evening.

The fixture, scheduled for 19 August 2026, was originally due to be played on the opening day of the campaign. It was postponed after Sundowns’ pre-season preparations were delayed.

The Brazilians are looking to return to winning ways after being held to a 1-1 draw by Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Sundowns have selected 30. Williams in goal, with 25. Mudau, 42. Khoza, 20. Kekana and 23. Basadien in defence.

Marumo Gallants are still searching for their first victory of the season. They began their campaign with a draw against Kruger United before suffering a 3-1 defeat by Stellenbosch FC last Friday.

The result leaves new coach Phuti Mohafe seeking a response as Gallants attempt to get their league campaign on track.
