Mamelodi Sundowns make Katlego Ntsabeleng transfer permanent

Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the permanent signing of Katlego ‘Tsiki’ Ntsabeleng from Major League Soccer club FC Dallas after a successful season-long loan.

The 28-year-old attacking midfielder initially joined Sundowns on a temporary deal, but his performances have led the Betway Premiership side to make the transfer permanent at Chloorkop.

Ntsabeleng scored three goals and provided one assist in 14 appearances for Sundowns during his loan spell. His contribution also came as the club’s squad secured the CAF Champions League crown.

The former FC Dallas player’s move has now been formally confirmed, ensuring that he will remain with the South African club beyond the original loan agreement.

Ntsabeleng became part of the Sundowns squad during a successful period for the club. His three goals and assist came across 14 matches for the Brazilians, while he also played a role in the team that lifted the continental trophy.

The decision to retain him means Sundowns have converted what began as a season-long arrangement into a permanent switch. The club are also known as Masandawana, while their base at Chloorkop remains the setting for the completed deal.

The timing of the announcement comes as Sundowns prepare for their next competitive fixture. Miguel Cardoso’s side did not feature in the opening match of the Betway Premiership season, but they are due to return to action against Polokwane City.

That match will be played in the MTN8 quarter-finals at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday.

Ntsabeleng’s future has therefore been settled before Sundowns’ meeting with Polokwane City, with the midfielder now officially attached to the club on a permanent basis rather than as a loan player.

His arrival from FC Dallas had initially been structured to last for one season. However, the three goals and one assist he recorded in 14 appearances, together with his involvement in the squad that won the CAF Champions League, were followed by Sundowns’ decision to complete the transfer.

The move keeps the 28-year-old attacking midfielder at Chloorkop as the club prepare for their MTN8 quarter-final. Sundowns will face Polokwane City at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium after sitting out the opening match of the Betway Premiership campaign.

The club’s announcement confirms that Ntsabeleng’s spell with Masandawana will continue permanently. What started as a loan from Major League Soccer’s FC Dallas has now become a completed transfer for the player who helped the Brazilians with three goals and an assist in 14 matches.
