Mamelodi Sundowns forward Iqraam Reiners has predicted his teammate Jayden Adams could secure an European move in the next one or two years.
Jayden Adams joined Mamelodi Sundowns in January and quickly cemented his place in the club’s star-studded squad. Despite fierce competition for places, he has impressed with his consistent performances and versatility.
His form earned him a recall to Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad, where he scored two crucial goals against Benin and Lesotho during the last international window. Adams’ growth has not gone unnoticed by teammates and fans alike.
Iqraam Rayners, who knows Adams from their days at Stellenbosch, praised his quality and work ethic, saying his rise is no surprise. Rayners believes that Adams’ potential is clear and that he’s destined for greater things abroad
“I have known Jayden’s abilities since playing with him at Stellenbosch, I know his qualities, he is a good player who quickly integrated into Sundowns. I know what he is capable of, and I am just happy that he is here with us.
This is a good opportunity for him to advance his career. He is technically good, and there are many players here who are also good, they always help him improve his game, give advice because he is still young,” said Reiners.
While Rayners acknowledges his move will take him to greater heights, having also made the switch from Stellies this season, he believes he can still make a move abroad, given his age.
“He was 12 years old when he joined us in the First Division, he was already good, you could see there’s something there,” he added.
“And I think after the years he improved and improved, I’m happy for him, I think in the next one or two seasons he could go to Europe.”
