South Africa international Themba Zwane has extended his stay with Mamelodi Sundowns, keeping him at the club beyond the 2024/25 campaign.
The 35-year-old experienced midfielder, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, will now remain at the club for an extended period.
Sundowns on the eve of their first CAF Champions League semifinal match, announced the extension of the contract with the 35-year-old playmaker.
The duration is undisclosed, but it is noted that Zwane will stay with the team beyond the 2024/2025 season.
This season, Zwane has only appeared twice in the Premier League after tearing his Achilles tendon during a match with ‘Bafana Bafana’ in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Congo-Brazzaville.
Overall, the playmaker has played in 411 matches for Mamelodi Sundowns, scoring 80 goals and providing 60 assists.
It was previously reported that the club wants to ensure the midfielder is in good enough shape to perform at the highest level.
