Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Lucas Ribeiro has emerged as a transfer target for Brazil powerhouse, Fluminense following a standout performance at the FIFA Club World Cup tournament.

The 26-year-oldforward showcased glimpses of good performance at the tournament despite his outfits’ early elimination. He scored one goals and delivered an assist in three appearances.

His stock rose significantly after a stunning solo goal against Borussia Dortmund that showcased his flair and technical ability.

Ribeiro’s outstanding performance has caught the attention of several clubs including, Fluminense, who are keen to secure his services. The Brazil powerhouse has already inquired about the player’s availability.

Ribeiro has enjoyed a strong run of form in South Africa, where he has become one of Sundowns key players. Fluminense’s interest comes amid efforts to reshape their squad following their early Club World Cup exit.

Currently, no formal offer has been made yet, but the initial approach signals that Ribeiro is on Fluminense’s shortlist this window.

Meanwhile, his current contract with Mamelodi Sundowns is expected to elapse in the summer of 2028.
