Cholet has strengthened its squad with the signing of Senegalese defender Mame Balla Tine, marking the club’s second acquisition of the summer. The Championnat National side officially announced the two-year deal on Tuesday via their website.
The 23-year-old, a versatile player capable of operating both as a central defender and a defensive midfielder, had previously undergone a trial with Lille OSC and received an invitation from Minnesota in the United States. Ultimately, Tine opted to continue his career in France, joining Cholet to gain regular playing time and further develop his game.
A graduate of the Diambars Institute in Senegal, Mame Balla Tine brings a blend of technical skill and tactical awareness to Cholet, reflecting the high level of training he received at the renowned academy. His addition is expected to bolster the club’s defensive options as they prepare for the upcoming season in the French third division.
