Mamdouh Khatib secures another term as Al Ahly president amid unwavering support

Mamdouh Khatib has been confirmed to continue as president of Al Ahly Sporting Club following the closure of nominations for the club’s upcoming elections.

With no other candidate standing for the presidency, El-Khatib automatically secures a third consecutive term, pending formal approval by at least 25% of the members present at the upcoming general assembly on October 31.

Khatib’s official list also features Yassin Mansour as vice president and Khaled Mortagy as treasurer. Many incumbent board members, alongside some fresh faces, will continue to guide the club for the 2025-2029 cycle.

In his statement, Khatib expressed profound gratitude to the club’s members and fans, acknowledging their unwavering support. He reflected on his nearly 55-year association with Al-Ahly and emphasized his resolve to put the club’s interests above all else, even as he navigates recent health concerns.

His presidency has been marked by significant triumphs, including multiple CAF Champions League victories and extensive infrastructure upgrades. Thanks to Khatib’s vision, Al-Ahly remains a dominant force both domestically and on the continental stage, sustaining its legacy and financial stability in challenging times.
