Mamadou Diatta: Senegal defender leaves ASC Jaraaf to become free agent

Senegal centre-back Mamadou Diatta has left ASC Jaraaf to become a free agent after his contract with the Dakar club came to an end. The 20-year-old, born in the Senegalese capital and comfortable on his left foot, is now without a club ahead of the new campaign.

Diatta departs Jaraaf with a growing reputation in domestic competition. He featured in Senegal’s Ligue 1 last season, making six appearances and providing one assist, while also gaining experience on the continental stage with two outings in the CAF Champions League. Standing at 1.85m, he has been used primarily in the heart of defence.

The move marks the end of a one-year spell at ASC Jaraaf, whom he joined in August 2025 from US Goreenne. His performances in the top flight and in African competition helped him establish himself at senior level after progressing from US Goreenne into the Dakar side’s first team.

Diatta’s market value has been assessed at €25,000 following his development in Ligue 1 and exposure in the Champions League. His departure leaves him free to assess options for the next step in his career, both within Senegal and potentially further afield.

The centre-back’s status is now officially listed as without club following his exit from ASC Jaraaf on 28 July 2026.
