Mamadou Diagne: Senegal left-back joins Al-Ramadi from Golan SC

Senegal defender Mamadou Diagne has joined Iraqi side Al-Ramadi from league rivals Golan SC. The 25-year-old left-back, who stands at 1.87m and favours his right foot, moves within the Iraq Stars League as he continues his career in the country.

Diagne arrives at Al-Ramadi after a season with Golan SC, having previously built his career across Morocco and Iraq. His switch further strengthens Al-Ramadi’s defensive options on the left, with the club adding a player who has experience in both North African and Middle Eastern competitions.

The Dakar-born full-back first emerged at Africa Foot before making the step to Union Touarga, beginning a spell in Moroccan football that also included moves to Khemisset and AS Sale. During his time in Morocco he featured in the Coupe du Trone, registering a full 90 minutes in the competition.

In January 2025 Diagne moved from AS Sale to Mosul SC on a free transfer, marking his first stint in Iraqi football. He then joined Golan SC in September 2025, again on a free transfer, before earning his latest move to Al-Ramadi.

Diagne is listed primarily as a left-back but is deployed broadly as a defender, offering versatility across the back line. His arrival adds height and experience to Al-Ramadi’s back four as the club reshapes its squad.

The Senegalese defender’s transfer from Golan SC to Al-Ramadi has been completed ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
