Mamadou Coulibaly has officially parted ways with Salernitana, sealing a permanent transfer to Serie B club Catanzaro. The 25-year-old Senegalese midfielder has signed a one-year contract with the Italian side, with the option to extend his stay for an additional year.

Coulibaly’s departure marks the end of his often-loaned spell with Salernitana.

Since joining the club, the midfielder has found himself repeatedly sent out on loan, including stints with Ternana and Palermo.

However, this time, the transfer to Catanzaro signals a definitive break from Salernitana, allowing Coulibaly the opportunity to establish himself in a more permanent setting.

Salernitana confirmed the move in a brief statement:

“US Salernitana 1919 announces that it has reached an agreement with US Catanzaro 1929 for the definitive transfer of midfielder born in 1999 Mamadou Coulibaly.

The club thanks the player for his availability and wishes him the best professional luck for the rest of his career.”

This transfer marks a fresh start for Coulibaly, who will be looking to make a significant impact at Catanzaro.

With a one-year contract in place, the Senegalese international has the chance to prove his worth in Serie B, with the potential for a longer-term stay if the club exercises the option for an additional year.

Coulibaly’s journey through Italian football has seen its fair share of ups and downs.

After breaking through with Pescara in Serie B, his performances caught the attention of Salernitana.

However, a consistent first-team spot eluded him, and he spent much of his time on the road, gaining experience with multiple clubs through loan deals.

Now, at Catanzaro, Coulibaly will be hoping for a more settled experience.

The club, which has ambitions of climbing the Serie B table, will look to the Senegalese midfielder to bolster their squad.

For Coulibaly, this transfer presents an opportunity to re-establish himself as a key player and to showcase his talent on a more consistent basis.

As the new chapter in his career begins, both Coulibaly and Catanzaro will be eager for the partnership to flourish, with hopes of a successful season ahead in Italy’s second division.
