Malik Mosrati catches Barcelona attention after Stuttgart title triumph

FC Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close eye on 16-year-old VfB Stuttgart prospect Malik Mosrati following his impressive performances in Germany’s U17 championship.

According to Africafoot, the Spanish club are monitoring the youngster’s development as he continues to make a name for himself at youth level. Mosrati has also attracted attention from the Tunisian national team staff, who are following his progress with a potential place in the U23 squad in mind.

The teenager made a strong impression during the final phase of the German U17 championship, producing important contributions as Stuttgart progressed to win the competition.

Mosrati scored a decisive goal against Augsburg on 9 May 2026, finding the net in the 95th minute to secure a crucial result for his side. He then continued his scoring run in the final against Hoffenheim, helping Stuttgart claim the title with a 3-2 victory.

His performances in the decisive stages of the tournament have brought further attention to his development, with Barcelona reportedly among the clubs keeping track of his progress.

The Catalan side are known for their interest in young footballing talent, and Mosrati’s displays have reportedly put him on their radar. However, the reported monitoring does not necessarily indicate that Barcelona are preparing a transfer offer for the Stuttgart youngster.

Mosrati has also attracted attention in Tunisia, where the national team staff are assessing his progress as they consider potential options for the U23 squad.

Former Tunisian international Sofien Chahed has highlighted the youngster’s qualities in attacking situations, pointing to his understanding of the game and the confidence he displays when going forward.

“He already shows a good understanding of the game and a real personality in attacking phases.”

Chahed’s comments underline the promise Mosrati has shown in his performances for Stuttgart. His ability to contribute in important moments, including scoring in the championship final, has added to the interest surrounding his future.

Despite the growing attention, the 16-year-old still has considerable room to develop. Maintaining consistency and discipline will be important as he continues his progress and works towards reaching his full potential.

For now, Barcelona’s reported interest remains at the monitoring stage, with no confirmed move mentioned in the report. It remains to be seen whether the Spanish club will take their interest further or whether Mosrati will continue his development at Stuttgart.

The teenager’s performances in the German youth competition have provided a strong platform for his next steps, while the attention from Barcelona and Tunisia adds another dimension to his emerging career.
