Yves Bissouma has publicly apologized to Tottenham supporters following a challenging period in his life marked by a series of burglaries that left him traumatised and struggling to cope.

The Malian international revealed that he lost property valued at nearly one million pounds during the incidents, including watches, jewelry, bags, and personal effects.

The break-ins shook him profoundly, leaving him fearful and disoriented, and affecting not only him but also his family, particularly his father.

“I’m sorry,” Bissouma said. “This event has broken something inside me that I didn’t even think I could break. I apologize to the fans.”

Bissouma admitted that the trauma drove him to use “hippy crack,” a period during which panic, paranoia, and sleepless nights overwhelmed the usually resilient midfielder.

He described staying at the training facility rather than returning home out of fear and confided that he sought support from a mental health therapist, sometimes as frequently as five times a week, to manage depression and regain control over his life.

The player stressed that his actions do not excuse the choices he made, but he wanted fans to understand the context behind them.

Bissouma acknowledged the impact on his public image and insisted that his behaviour did not reflect the professional or personal standards he aspires to uphold.

“I love playing for Tottenham,” he added. “I’m just thinking about getting back in shape and trying to enjoy myself on the pitch again.”

Through his statement, Bissouma demonstrated accountability while expressing a desire to move forward.

He framed the apology not only as a gesture to fans but as a personal commitment to rebuild trust, refocus on football, and take responsibility for his mental health journey.

For the midfielder, this period represents a turning point. By addressing the ordeal openly, Bissouma seeks to reconcile with supporters, reclaim his focus, and approach his career with renewed dedication and honesty.

Tottenham fans and teammates alike are watching closely as he works to regain form and stability on and off the pitch.
