Sambou Sissoko’s impressive rise at FK Čukarički has prompted the Serbian club to open negotiations over a new long-term deal, hoping to secure the Malian midfielder beyond his current contract.

Čukarički have offered improved terms as they try to fend off growing interest from abroad.

Sissoko has emerged as Igor Matić’s standout performer this season, asserting himself as the team’s most influential player.

The Malian midfielder has delivered consistent displays in the Serbian Super Liga, recording 13 appearances, 1,041 minutes, and one goal—numbers that underline his growing importance to the Black and Yellow side.

Matić holds the 23-year-old in high regard, praising his physical presence, reading of the game, and maturity on the ball.

His performances have led Čukarički’s management to begin detailed discussions with Sissoko and his representatives.

According to Africasoccer, the club have tabled a proposal that includes a salary increase, enhanced team benefits, and an extension running until 30 June 2028.

Talks are now in an advanced phase, and Sissoko has not rejected the offer. However, he prefers to take time to reflect on his options before the winter transfer window opens.

Sissoko, developed at USFAS Bamako before featuring for Djoliba AC, remains under contract with Čukarički until June 2026.

Clubs from multiple continents have made approaches—interest first revealed by Africasoccer—but Čukarički are determined to retain their midfield anchor and continue building their squad around him.

His current market value stands at €850,000, according to Transfermarkt figures.

The club’s determination to renew the midfielder’s deal highlights his growing stature and the strategic importance he holds within the project.

Whether Sissoko commits to the improved terms or considers offers abroad, his next decision will shape both his career trajectory and Čukarički’s long-term planning.
