Malian international, Diadie Samassekou is set to miss the rest of the 2024/25 football season as a result of injury.
The midfielder was in action for Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga last weekend when the team played out a 1-1 draw against Heidenheim.
Following checks this week, it has been confirmed that Diadie Samassekou has sustained a tendon injury.
According to Hoffenheim manager Christian Ilzer, things are not looking good for the Malian midfielder.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the coach revealed that Diadie Samassekou is likely to miss the rest of the football season due to the injury.
The first match he will miss will be Friday’s clash against rivals St. Pauli in the German Bundesliga.
The injury is a major blow for Hoffenheim, especially when the club is fighting for points to climb higher on the league log to avoid relegation.
His club will hope he recovers in time before the end of the season.
