Mali international Diadie Samassekou was forced off the pitch due to injury during TSG Hoffenheim’s Bundesliga clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, January 15.
Samassekou started the away fixture at the Allianz Arena but could not see out the first half. The midfielder went down injured in the 40th minute, prompting the referee to halt play for medical attention.
Three minutes later, Hoffenheim manager Christian Ilzer was compelled to make a substitution, with Alexander Prass coming on to replace the injured Samassekou.
By the time Samassekou left the pitch, Bayern Munich had already showcased their dominance, scoring three first-half goals. Leroy Sané, Raphael Guerreiro, and Harry Kane each found the back of the net, putting Bayern firmly on course for victory.
It is expected that Diadie Samassekou will undergo an assessment immediately to ascertain the extent of his injury.
