Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng has returned to Egyptian club Al-Ahly ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
This follows the termination of his loan deal with Saudi Pro League club Al-Kholood Club.
In an official statement on the social media platform X, Al-Kholood announced the decision to end Dieng’s loan, citing their strong relationship with Al Ahly and the midfielder’s desire to represent the Cairo-based club at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The club also praised Dieng for his contributions during the 2023/2024 season, describing him as a valuable technical asset and commending his discipline and professionalism throughout his time in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Kholood expressed gratitude to the player and extended best wishes for his future, emphasising the mutual respect and cooperation shared between the two clubs.
With Al Ahly set to compete in the newly expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup in the United States next year, Dieng’s return is seen as a timely boost to the squad as they prepare for the global stage.
He is expected to play a key role for the African giants at the tournament.
