Malian goalkeeper Ismael Diawara has completed a transfer to Swedish club IK Sirius Fotboll, signing a contract that will keep him with the team until the end of the 2027 season.
He will take over the starting goalkeeper role following the departure of Jakob Tånnander.
Diawara was drawn to the club by its ambitious sporting project and the playing style promoted by Sirius. As he embarks on this new chapter in his career, he returns to Allsvenskan, a league he knows well.

During his tenure at Malmö FF, Diawara gained international recognition for his performances on the European stage, particularly during their successful qualification for the 2021/2022 Champions League group stage, where he played a crucial role in securing the team’s place.
Before rising to prominence in Swedish top-flight football, the Örebro native honed his skills at a number of clubs, including Rynninge IK, BK Forward, Gjøvik-Lyn, Landskrona BoIS, and Motala AIF.
