Malian teenager Mamadou Doumbia has expressed his desire to improve his game before the start of the 2025/26 football season.
The striker was named Young Player of the Season at Watford at the end of the 2024/25 English Championship season.
He is currently part of the Watford squad, having a pre-season ahead of the upcoming football campaign.
Speaking after his team’s 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon, Mamadou Doumbia said he wants to improve to score more goals for Watford next season.
“I need to improve for next season and score goals for Watford. “I feel good, but I need to improve and play more games, ready for the season to start,” Mamadou Doumbia said in a post-match interview.
He added, “Pre-season is tough because you have everything – double training sessions and matches, but you have to keep going,” Doumbia said.
Doumbia will hope to score in Watford’s next pre-season match against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road on Saturday, July 26.
