The Eagles of Mali concluded their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Sunday afternoon with a rampant 4-1 victory against Madagascar.
From the onset, Mali showcased their attacking intent and wasted no time in stamping their authority. Lassine Sinayoko opened the scoring in the 10th minute after being set up beautifully by Lassana Coulibaly, sending the home fans into early celebration.
The hosts maintained their dominance and doubled their advantage in the 39th minute when Nene Dorgeles calmly slotted home after a fluid team buildup.
After halftime, Mali continued their relentless charge. Sinayoko struck again in the 65th minute to make it 3-0, this time assisted by W. Coulibaly, as the Eagles dictated play with confidence and precision.
Madagascar managed to pull one back in the 90th minute through Johan N’zi, who converted from N. Rakotoharimalala’s assist to make it 3-1. But Mali were not done yet, in stoppage time, G. Diarra restored the three-goal cushion with a superb strike set up by Amadou Haidara, sealing a dominant 4-1 win.
Despite the big win, Mali have missed out on qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars of Ghana securign the automatic slot in Group I.
