Nene Dorgeles begins rehabilitation

Malian international Nene Dorgeles is currently in recovery after successfully undergoing surgery to address persistent groin pain that had troubled him for several weeks.

The forward, who plays for Fenerbahçe S.K., had been managing the injury over an extended period but ultimately opted for surgical intervention after discomfort continued to limit his availability and performance levels.

Dorgeles travelled to Paris, France, where the procedure was carried out on 21 May. According to official updates from the Malian Football Federation, the operation was successful, bringing relief to both the player and his national team supporters.

The striker has now entered the rehabilitation phase, where he will focus on recovery and regaining full match fitness ahead of a planned return to competitive action in approximately two months.

The timing of the injury comes as a setback for Fenerbahçe S.K., who have relied on Dorgeles as an important attacking option throughout the season.

Before being sidelined, the Malian forward enjoyed a productive campaign in Turkey, featuring in 25 league matches and contributing significantly to his team’s attacking output. He scored nine goals and registered three assists, underlining his growing influence in the squad.

His ability to operate across the front line, combined with his pace and movement in attacking areas, made him a valuable asset in Fenerbahçe’s offensive system.

Prior to the groin issue, Dorgeles had established himself as one of the club’s reliable contributors in the final third. His performances had drawn attention for their consistency, with the Malian international frequently stepping up in key moments during the domestic campaign.

However, the gradual worsening of his injury eventually forced the club and player to take a long-term view, prioritising his health and future performance over short-term availability.

With surgery now completed successfully, Dorgeles has begun an intensive rehabilitation programme aimed at ensuring a full and safe return to action.

Medical staff are optimistic about his recovery timeline, with expectations that he could return to competitive football in around two months, depending on how he responds to treatment and physical conditioning phases.

Both club and national team medical departments are reportedly working closely to monitor his progress and manage his return carefully, given his importance at both levels.

Although the injury represents a temporary setback, the positive surgical outcome provides encouragement for both Fenerbahçe S.K. and the Malian national team.

Dorgeles remains an important figure for Mali’s international ambitions, and his return will be closely anticipated ahead of upcoming fixtures and tournaments.

For now, the focus remains firmly on recovery, with the forward expected to gradually rebuild his fitness before returning to full competitive action later in the year.

If rehabilitation continues as planned, Nene Dorgeles could be back in action in time to play a significant role in the next phase of both his club and international commitments.
