Mali defender Ichaka Diarra joins Al-Abbassieh from Tadamon Sour

Mali centre-back Ichaka Diarra has joined Al-Abbassieh from Tadamon Sour, adding an experienced defender to the Lebanese Premier League club’s squad.

Diarra, 31, completed the move on 17 September 2026 after leaving Tadamon Sour, with both clubs competing in Lebanon’s top flight. No transfer fee was disclosed for the move.

The 1.92m right-footed defender spent the previous season with Tadamon Sour after returning from a loan spell at Al-Ansar FC. He joined Al-Ansar on loan in March 2026 and went back to Tadamon Sour at the end of the campaign in May.

Diarra’s record in the Lebanese Premier League includes 50 appearances, four goals and one assist. He also has experience in a range of domestic and continental competitions, including the AFC Champions League Two, the AFC Cup, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

His career has taken him across several countries and leagues. Before joining Tadamon Sour in August 2025, he played for Jamus FC, having moved there from Jordanian club Al-Wehdat SC at the start of 2025. That transfer followed an earlier spell with Al-Ansar, for whom he played before joining Indonesian side Arema FC in 2023.

Diarra began his senior career in Mali with Onze Createurs before moving to Djoliba AC. He then transferred to Tunisia’s Esperance in June 2016, followed by a switch to Moldova’s CSF Speranta later that year. In 2017, he joined Zambia’s Buildcon FC, and the following season moved to Senegalese club ASC Jaraaf.

He subsequently played in Saudi Arabia for Al-Thoqbah and in Jordan for Al-Arabi and Sahab SC before establishing a longer run in Lebanon. The centre-back returned to Al-Ansar in February 2022 and later joined Arema FC on a free transfer in July 2023, before his subsequent spell with Al-Wehdat.

Diarra’s latest move brings him back to the Lebanese Premier League, where he has made the largest number of recorded appearances in his career. He is now an Al-Abbassieh player after completing his transfer from Tadamon Sour on 17 September 2026.
