In their second friendly match of the Asian tour, José Mourinho’s Chelsea faced a Malaysian selection on Sunday and emerged victorious with a score of 4-1, securing the trophy at stake.
The offensive showcase began in the 6th minute with a goal from Bertrand Traoré, the younger brother of Alain Traoré from FC Lorient. Bertrand Traoré, aged 17, played a pivotal role in the action, starting and concluding it from midfield. Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian-Congolese striker who had previously been the lone scorer in Chelsea’s first pre-season match against a Thai selection in Bangkok, added another goal in the 45th minute, making it 3-0. In the final minutes of the match, Nigerian Victor Moses scored the fourth goal for Chelsea before the Malaysian team netted their only goal. It’s worth noting that Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, who scored Chelsea’s second goal, had to exit the game due to injury.
The next Asian match for Mourinho’s team is scheduled for Thursday in Indonesia before heading to the USA as part of their pre-season preparations.
