Malang Sarr future in spotlight as Premier League and Saudi clubs circle

Malang Sarr’s situation at RC Lens is drawing serious attention as he approaches the final months of his deal, with clubs from both the Premier League and Saudi Pro League monitoring his status ahead of the summer window.

The 27-year-old centre-back’s contract expires in June, and his performances this season have only increased interest in his next move.

Sarr joined Lens on 26 July 2024 after mutually terminating his contract with Chelsea, signing a two-year deal that included an option for a further year. In the 2024–25 Ligue 1 campaign, he made 23 appearances, helping Lens to an eighth-place finish with 52 points from 15 wins, 7 draws, and 12 defeats, even though he did not register a goal or an assist.

Under coach Pierre Sage, Sarr has been widely praised for his consistency and has been described as one of the standout central defenders in Ligue 1 this season.

Lens are keen to keep him beyond the summer, but the player has not ruled out a new challenge abroad, leaving his future open as interest from England and Saudi Arabia continues to build.
