Plymouth Argyle have secured the signing of highly-rated defensive midfielder Malachi Boateng from Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian on a permanent deal.
At just 22, Boateng brings with him a wealth of experience, having started his career at Crystal Palace before spending time on loan at Queen’s Park and Dundee. After joining Hearts last summer, he now makes the move to the South West of England, where he will add depth to Head Coach Miron Muslic’s midfield options with a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Muslic is thrilled to bring Boateng on board ahead of the transfer deadline: “Malachi provides further strength in depth to the squad but also fits the profile of player we are trying to sign perfectly. He is tall, athletic and physical and complements the style of play I am trying to implement here at Argyle.”
Argyle’s Head of Recruitment, Jimmy Dickinson, also expressed his excitement, saying, “Malachi is a ball-winning defensive midfielder who will bolster Miron’s options. He adds athleticism and has loads of potential to develop.”
