Head coach of Bafana Bafana of South Africa Higo Broos has urged the Amajitas players to make the right choice to benefit their career following recent success at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Amajitas secured their first U20 AFCON title last Saturday after inflicting a narrow win over Morocco in the final. Gomolemo Kekana’s second-half rocket goal against Morocco was enough to secure South Africa a historic trophy.
Welcoming the team at OR Tambo International Airport from Cairo on Tuesday, Broos entreated the players to make the right choice after recent success.
“This is your career crossroads,” Broos emphasized. “Make the right choices now, and I’ll welcome you to FNB Stadium wearing Bafana colors when we host continental giants next year.”
“The beautiful game offers the most rewarding career imaginable,” stressed the veteran coach, whose recent success with Bafana has amplified his credibility. “But that privileged life demands daily sacrifice – proper lifestyle choices today determine whether you’ll be facing continental superstars or watching from the stands.”
Meanwhile, the Belgian tactician has highlighted that the future of South Africa football depends on the U20 team.
“The coming months will reveal your true commitment. South Africa’s football future needs warriors, not wasted talent.”
