Makabi Lilepo: DR Congo winger at Kaizer Chiefs linked with Raja Casablanca move

DR Congo winger Makabi Lilepo of Kaizer Chiefs is being linked with a move to Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, with the Botola Pro Inwi side exploring a deal for the right-sided attacker.

Lilepo, 28, has two years remaining on his contract at Chiefs, which runs until 30 June 2027, meaning Raja would need to negotiate a fee with the South African club rather than target a free transfer. He is currently valued at around €700,000, a figure that is expected to shape any discussions over his future.

The Kinshasa-born wide player joined Kaizer Chiefs in January 2025 from French side Valenciennes for a reported €500,000 and has since become a regular in the Betway Premiership. He has delivered 11 goals and five assists in 42 league appearances, underlining his attacking contribution from the right flank.

Lilepo’s performances in continental competition have also attracted attention, with eight goals in 16 CAF Champions League outings earlier in his career, as well as four goals in 10 appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup. His experience on the African stage is viewed as a key component of his appeal to a club regularly involved in continental tournaments.

The winger helped Chiefs lift the Nedbank Cup in the 2024-25 season, adding domestic silverware to his CV soon after his arrival. For now, he remains under contract in Johannesburg, and any move to Casablanca would depend on Raja meeting Kaizer Chiefs’ valuation and securing agreement with the player’s camp.
