Leicester City will benefit from the return of Ghana striker Jordan Ayew as they prepare to face Aston Villa in the English Premier League this weekend.
The experienced forward is back in the squad after serving a suspension for yellow card accumulation, adding a much-needed boost to the Foxes’ attacking options.
Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy shared positive updates on the team’s readiness during his pre-match press conference, confirming Ayew’s return.
“Jordan Ayew is back after suspension. Wout Faes has been training individually so far but he will be back in team training from today onwards, so we will look at how he continues his progress. These two I think we can add to the team hopefully,” Van Nistelrooy stated.
Ayew’s return comes at a pivotal moment for Leicester City. The Ghanaian forward has been instrumental this season, featuring in 20 matches, scoring five goals, and providing one assist.
His impact has been crucial, including a Boxing Day goal against the league leaders, though it wasn’t enough to secure points for the team.
His absence was felt during the loss to Manchester City, but his return promises to bolster the team’s attacking capabilities.
