Majeed Waris Transfer Speculation: Agent Clarifies Ligue 1 Interest
Reports of RC Lens expressing interest in Ghanaian striker Majeed Waris have been dismissed by the player’s agent, who insists that no concrete offer has come from the French club.
Speaking to Get French Football, Waris’ representative Phil Radley confirmed that while there is genuine interest from two Ligue 1 clubs, Lens is not among them. “We are aware of concrete interest from two Ligue 1 clubs, but neither of them is RC Lens,” Radley said.
The agent also acknowledged that foreign clubs have expressed interest in the forward, but cautioned that no formal negotiations have yet taken place. A key sticking point remains the player’s release clause with Spartak Moscow, Waris’ current club. “There is also interest from abroad. If a club can agree on the transfer fee demanded by Spartak Moscow, discussions can take place,” Radley added.
Waris drew attention during the last season thanks to an impressive half-season on loan at Valenciennes, and recently featured at the World Cup in Brazil representing Ghana’s Black Stars.
As the transfer window unfolds, all eyes will be on Waris’ next move, with several clubs reportedly eager to secure his services.
