Mainz track AC Milan’s German-Nigerian defender David Odogu

German-Nigerian centre-back David Odogu is being linked with a move from AC Milan to Mainz, with the Bundesliga club monitoring the 20-year-old’s situation.

Odogu joined Milan from Wolfsburg in September 2025 in a deal worth €7m and is contracted at San Siro until 30 June 2029. The reported likelihood of a move is currently rated at 20%, and there has been no indication that an agreement has been reached.

The defender has made two Serie A appearances for Milan, playing five minutes in total, and also featured once in the Italy Cup for 11 minutes. His limited first-team involvement could provide the context for a potential return to Germany, although the available information does not indicate whether Mainz have made a formal offer.

Odogu’s market value is listed at €5m. He developed at Wolfsburg before moving to Milan and won the Under-17 World Cup and European Under-17 Championship with Germany in 2023.

Born in Berlin, Odogu is 1.91m tall and plays as a right-footed centre-back. His current deal with AC Milan runs for a further three seasons beyond the 2025-26 campaign.
