Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet is making his return to Egypt count.

The winger struck again on Tuesday night as Al Ahly edged Haras El Hodoud in the ninth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

It was his third straight game on the scoresheet, a run that has lifted him into the thick of the top scorer race.

The breakthrough came just before halftime. A foul on Yassin Marei earned Al Ahly a penalty and Trezeguet calmly slotted it home in the 45th minute. The goal was his third in the league this season, drawing him level with Al Masry’s Omar El Saey and Wadi Degla’s Ahmed Farouk. They all sit one behind Al Masry’s Salah Mohsen and Algerian forward Abdel Rahim Daghmoum, who each have four.

For Trezeguet, the moment carried even more weight. After years in Europe, he has returned determined to write a new chapter at Al Ahly. The strike against Haras El Hodoud was his 11th career goal for the Red Devils, and his consistency is giving fans reason to dream again.
