Maghreb Fez strengthen squad with first summer signing

Moroccan champions Maghreb Fez have bolstered their squad ahead of their return to continental football by signing midfielder Amine El Farsi on a contract that runs until 2029.

The 27-year-old becomes the club’s first addition of the summer as preparations intensify for the 2026-27 campaign, in which the club will compete in both domestic competitions and the CAF Champions League.

El Farsi arrives after spending last season with French second-tier side Boulogne and brings with him experience gained across several clubs in France.

Reinforcements for continental return

The midfielder’s arrival is part of Maghreb Fez’s efforts to strengthen their squad following a historic season that saw them reclaim the Moroccan title and secure a place in Africa’s premier club competition.

Before joining Boulogne, El Farsi represented a number of French sides, including Creil, Saint-Maximin, Chantilly, Saint-Quentin and Hyères 83.

Club officials hope the new signing will add depth and quality to the midfield as the team prepares for the challenges of competing on both domestic and continental fronts.

Historic title triumph

Maghreb Fez secured the 2025-26 Botola Pro crown after finishing at the top of the table with 59 points, ending a 41-year wait for the championship.

The Moroccan side claimed 16 victories, recorded 11 draws and suffered only three defeats during an impressive campaign, sealing the fifth league title in the club’s history.

Having ended decades of frustration, Maghreb Fez will now turn their attention to defending their domestic crown and making an impact in the CAF Champions League next season.
