Maghnes Akliouche replaces injured PSG teammate Zaïre-Emery for France

Paris Saint-Germain forward Maghnes Akliouche has been called up to the France squad to replace club teammate Warren Zaïre-Emery, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Monday.

Zaïre-Emery ruled out with injury

Zaïre-Emery has been withdrawn from the France squad after suffering an adductor injury during Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory over Olympique de Marseille in Sunday’s ‘Classique’.

The 20-year-old midfielder started the match but has now been ruled out of joining Didier Deschamps’ squad at the Clairefontaine training centre.

His absence opens the door for Akliouche to return to the France set-up for the September international break.

Akliouche returns to Les Bleus

The 24-year-old PSG forward has 10 appearances for France, with one goal to his name, and also featured for seven minutes at the World Cup.

Akliouche joined PSG this summer after leaving AS Monaco and has made an immediate impact at his new club.

He has featured in all eight matches played by PSG since the beginning of the season, starting five of them, and provided an assist in the Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava.

The forward will now link up with the France squad as they begin their 2026-27 Nations League campaign during the September international window.
