Maghnes Akliouche availability a boost for Monaco against PSG

AS Monaco have received encouraging news ahead of their decisive Champions League play-off second leg against PSG, with Maghnes Akliouche expected to be fit to start at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

The young midfielder was forced off early in the first leg with a hip problem and subsequently missed Monaco’s weekend league match away to Lens as a precaution.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, Akliouche has already returned to full training and completed a normal session on Sunday morning, easing concerns over his availability for this crucial European clash.

His creativity and ability to link midfield and attack could be vital as Monaco look to overturn the deficit and keep their Champions League hopes alive.

There is, however, less certainty over the condition of Krepin Diatta. The Senegal international was taken off injured during the match against Lens and is now considered doubtful for the trip to Paris, leaving Monaco’s staff to monitor his progress closely in the coming days.

With a place in the next round on the line, Monaco will lean heavily on Akliouche’s return as they prepare for a high-pressure night in the French capital.
