Modern Sport’s new technical director, Magdy Abdel-Aaty, believes his latest challenge will mark a positive step in his coaching journey.
Fresh off a stint with Zed, Magdy Abdel-Aaty is optimistic about what lies ahead.
“Modern Club has the right structure and the key pieces needed for success,” he shared in a recent radio interview.
He spoke proudly about the team’s strong blend of experienced players and hungry young talents. “We’ve built a core group that’s ready to perform,” he said.
Reflecting on the Egyptian league, Magdy Abdel-Aaty noted the drop in consistently outstanding talent, naming Emam Ashour, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Ibrahim Adel, and Fiston Mayele as standouts.
He stressed that top clubs need depth to compete. “Al Ahly is a strong example. Their stability and organization give them an edge, especially when their coaching team can manage the stars,” he said.
Magdy Abdel-Aaty reserved special praise for Wessam Abu Ali. “He’s a rare talent, versatile, smart, and dynamic in attack. His arrival lifted Al Ahly, and that’s the kind of quality we need more of in our league.”
