Mohamed Yattara Makes Strong Start at Lyon, Eyes Better Link-Up with Lacazette
Olympique Lyonnais can count on Mohamed Yattara as the Guinean forward made an immediate impact in his first official match of the season. Yattara netted a brace in Lyon’s victory over Mlada Boleslav, demonstrating his determination to establish himself in the squad after several loan spells.
However, the young striker admits there is still room for improvement in his partnership with fellow forward Alexandre Lacazette. “We couldn’t dream of anything better, but I can do much better,” Yattara said. “It’s true that we had a bit of trouble finding our feet, but it’s important to remember that it’s like I’m a new player at Lyon. I hope our understanding will come quickly.”
The coach is working to pair the two forwards more often in training, aiming to build chemistry. “Alex likes to have the ball at his feet and drive forward, and we complement each other,” Yattara explained.
Fans are already drawing comparisons between Yattara and former Lyon striker Bafétimbi Gomis, hopeful that the Guinean can replicate Gomis’s goal-scoring influence.
