PSG Eyeing Lacazette and Fekir, Fournier Hits Back at ‘Destabilization’ Tactics
With the summer transfer window approaching, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly targeting Alexandre Lacazette and Nabil Fekir, Lyon’s two attacking jewels who have been instrumental in keeping OL in the title race alongside PSG.
According to Le10sport, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are keen to bolster their offensive lineup and have identified the Lyon duo as prime targets. However, OL coach Hubert Fournier believes these rumours are nothing more than an attempt to unsettle his players ahead of the final stretch of the season.
“PSG’s interest in Fekir and Lacazette? It’s simply destabilization. It’s fair game. Let’s hope it doesn’t have an impact on the players,” said Fournier during a press conference.
Both Lacazette and Fekir have enjoyed breakout seasons — the former as Ligue 1’s top scorer, and the latter as one of France’s brightest young talents. Unsurprisingly, their form has caught the eye of Chelsea and Arsenal, in addition to PSG.
Fournier, however, remains confident that his stars will stay:
“Their future? We’ll talk about it. They’re big guys. It’s one of the things that fuels the end of a season when you’re playing for a title. You have to accept it. (…) I can’t imagine any departures. The president was pretty firm on that. We’re not going to go back over it now.”
With Lyon pushing hard for the title and a return to the Champions League, retaining both players will be crucial — but the summer promises to be a tense one for OL fans.
