Garde expressed his satisfaction with Gomis’s performance both on and off the field, stating, “For me, Bafé is playing at his best level since he was in Lyon. On the field, he regained all his mobility and efficiency. Outside, he reacted extremely well and digested what happened this summer. Today, he has a very important role in the group.”
While acknowledging that Gomis’s contract is set to expire in June, Garde emphasized that there is still time for him to reconsider his decision. He added, “In any case, nothing prevents him from continuing the adventure. He needs to think twice. Now is not the time to talk about that but I’ll give you my feelings.”
With a few months remaining in the season, Lyon seems to be initiating efforts to persuade Gomis to stay beyond his initially planned departure.
