Ligue 1: Fekir Hails Lacazette Partnership After Lyon’s Win Over Caen
By BBC Sport | Ligue 1 – Lyon
Lyon’s impressive run of form continued on Friday night as they secured their eighth consecutive home victory with a win over Caen — and once again, Nabil Fekir was at the heart of the action.
The 21-year-old Franco-Algerian attacker delivered another assured performance, playing a key role in the opening match of Ligue 1’s 18th matchday. His growing understanding with in-form striker Alexandre Lacazette has become one of the driving forces behind OL’s title push.
Speaking in the mixed zone after the match, Fekir praised his teammate and highlighted the chemistry the duo shares both on and off the pitch.
“I think Alexandre understands the game really well. I like playing with players like him — it shows,” Fekir said. “We get along well on and off the pitch. He’s having a lot of success, he’s full of confidence, and he works hard for it. You can see that every weekend. It’s good for him and good for the team.”
Fekir’s own contribution this season has been impressive. He has now scored six goals and provided two assists, establishing himself as one of the league’s brightest young talents. His versatility and vision in the final third have added another dimension to Lyon’s attacking play.
The Fekir–Lacazette partnership has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s most dangerous duos, with Lacazette currently leading the scoring charts and Fekir continuing to supply chances and chip in with goals of his own.
Lyon’s latest win keeps them firmly in the race at the top of the table, and with their home form unshakable and their front line firing on all cylinders, they appear poised to remain serious title contenders heading into the second half of the season.
