Lyon complete signing of Algerian winger Kaïl Boudache until 2031
Olympique Lyonnais have officially completed the signing of Algerian winger Kaïl Boudache from OGC Nice, with the youngster putting pen to paper on a long-term contract running until 2031.
The highly rated attacker is regarded as one of the most promising young talents to emerge in Ligue 1, and his rapid rise has now been rewarded with a move to one of France’s most historic clubs.
Boudache made his professional breakthrough last season, featuring 19 times in all competitions and contributing three goals in an impressive debut campaign at senior level. His performances caught the attention of several top French clubs, but Lyon acted decisively to secure his signature ahead of rivals.
The winger first announced himself on the European stage earlier in the year when he made his professional debut in the Europa League against Go Ahead Eagles in January, a moment that marked the beginning of his rise in top-level football.
Comfortable operating on either flank, Boudache is known for his pace, direct dribbling and ability to take on defenders in one-on-one situations. His profile fits Lyon’s long-term strategy of investing in young, high-ceiling talents and developing them into key first-team players.
The club confirmed the transfer on Monday, underlining their intent to strengthen the squad with both immediate quality and long-term potential as they look to re-establish themselves among the top sides in French football.
For Lyon, the signing represents another step in their rebuild, while for Boudache it provides a major platform to continue his development at a club with a strong track record of nurturing young players.
With a contract secured until 2031, Lyon have made a significant long-term commitment to the Algerian winger, signalling their belief that he can become a key figure in the club’s future plans.
