The chapter between Henri Bédimo and Montpellier HSC is set to conclude within the next 24 hours. The Cameroonian defender is expected in Lyon on Thursday for a medical examination, as announced by the president of Olympique Lyonnais, Jean-Michel Aulas, on his Twitter account. Bédimo bid farewell to his Montpellier teammates on the team bus following their return from a training camp in Peralada, Spain, on Wednesday.
Henri Bédimo, known as the Indomitable Lion, joined Montpellier in the summer of 2011, transferring from RC Lens. During his two seasons with Montpellier, the 29-year-old left-back played a significant role in the team’s success, notably winning the 2011-2012 French championship.
Bédimo is expected to sign with Olympique Lyonnais, who have been seeking a left-back. The agreement is for a three-year period, pending the successful completion of the medical examination. As part of the transfer deal, Montpellier HSC will receive 2 million euros, with additional bonuses contingent on Olympique Lyonnais qualifying for the 2014-2015 Champions League. This transfer marks the end of Bédimo’s tenure with Montpellier and the beginning of a new chapter with Olympique Lyonnais.
