Luis Suarez Suspension Upheld but Allowed to Train with Barcelona
Barcelona — Luis Suarez received a setback on Thursday as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld the Uruguayan striker’s suspension, refusing to reduce the ban. Despite this, Suarez was granted permission to train with his new club Barcelona.
The decision allowed the recently signed forward to join his teammates on the training ground on Friday, giving fans their first glimpse of Suarez in Barça colours ahead of the new season.
However, the striker remains sidelined from competitive matches as his suspension continues to take effect. This also delayed his official presentation with the club, which was initially postponed.
Suarez’s formal introduction is now scheduled for next Monday, coinciding with the Joan Gamper Trophy friendly against Mexican side León FC.
The club and fans alike will be eager to see Suarez make his competitive debut once his suspension expires, as Barcelona look to integrate the high-profile signing into their squad.
