Luis Enrique dismisses PSG move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has reportedly ruled out any pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, despite growing speculation linking the Galatasaray forward with a move to the French champions.

Osimhen, who has rediscovered his best form in Turkey, has been in outstanding shape this season and is once again attracting interest from several top European clubs.

His performances have reignited conversations about a possible return to one of Europe’s major leagues, with PSG among those initially tipped as potential suitors.

However, according to Footparisien, Luis Enrique has shown no interest in bringing the 26-year-old to Paris.

The Spanish coach is said to be unconvinced that Osimhen’s playing style fits into his tactical vision.

Enrique reportedly believes that Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos already provides the physical presence and attacking profile needed for his system.

Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director, Luis Campos, has long been a strong admirer of Osimhen.

It was Campos who helped launch the Nigerian’s career in Ligue 1 during his time at Lille, where Osimhen’s explosive performances earned him a move to Napoli.

Despite Campos’ repeated attempts to convince Enrique to consider the striker, the manager has remained firm in his stance.

For me, Osimhen is undoubtedly one of the best centre-forwards in the world, said Gernot Rohr, the former Nigeria head coach, in praise of his compatriot’s qualities. Yet even such glowing endorsements appear unlikely to sway Enrique’s opinion.

While PSG have stepped back, several elite clubs are monitoring Osimhen’s situation closely.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Barcelona are all reported to be considering potential moves for the prolific Nigerian, who has developed into one of the most complete forwards in world football.

Osimhen’s resurgence at Galatasaray has only strengthened his market value, which currently stands at around €75 million.

He earns an annual salary of approximately €18.75 million and remains under contract with the Turkish giants until June 2029.

His blend of pace, power, and clinical finishing continues to make him a formidable threat in front of goal, reaffirming his status as one of Africa’s top exports.

As PSG prepare for their upcoming Ligue 1 clash against Le Havre, it seems clear that Osimhen will not be part of Luis Enrique’s plans.

Despite his world-class credentials, the Nigerian striker’s profile simply does not align with the manager’s preferred vision for the Parisian attack.
