Luis Enrique has fired back at Ousmane Dembele’s post match remarks in the wake of PSG’s shock 3–1 defeat to Rennes, branding the winger’s comments “worthless.”

Dembele had questioned egos and collective spirit in the squad, but his coach made it clear he has no intention of debating players through the media.

“The players’ statements after the match are worthless. Absolutely worthless,” Enrique said in a blunt press conference at Roazhon Park. “I’m not going to answer any question from a player, any response from a player.”

He went on to underline that the hierarchy at PSG is non negotiable: “I will never allow any player to be above the club. So, it’s clear. I am the person responsible for the team. I will not allow any player to think that he is more important than the club.”

Enrique added that such outbursts are often “the result of anger after a match” and insisted they would not change his approach.

The defeat, sealed by goals from Musa Al Taamari, Esteban Lepaul and Breel Embolo with Dembele scoring PSG’s consolation, has intensified scrutiny on PSG’s dressing room dynamics and raised questions about internal tensions at a crucial point in the season.
